Online Counselling in Malaysia
Confidential, evidence-based online therapy for anxiety, trauma, and relationship challenge, accessible from anywhere
Online counselling allows you to access professional therapeutic support from the comfort and privacy of your own space, whether you are based in Kuala Lumpur or elsewhere.
Many clients choose online therapy because it offers greater flexibility while still maintaining consistency and depth in the therapeutic process. For some, it is also easier to begin counselling from a familiar environment.
My online sessions work in the same structured and supportive way as in-person sessions. Clients trying online counselling for the first time often find that sessions feel connected, reflective, and emotionally meaningful.
You will be heard, understood, and guided through your concerns with practical strategies and tools that you can apply in your daily life.
About ZR Counselling’s Service
I am Zuraya Rafique, a Registered and Licensed Counsellor with Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia.
ZR Counselling is a solo private practice, which means you will work directly with me throughout your sessions in a consistent, one-to-one setting.
I provide online counselling in Malaysia and internationally for adults experiencing anxiety, trauma, and relationship difficulties.
How Online Counselling Works
Online counselling is conducted via secure video sessions.
- Sessions are held through a secure, encrypted teletherapy platform called doxy.me
- You will receive a private link for each session
- No downloads or account setup are required
- You can attend sessions using your laptop, tablet, or phone
- Resources and tools are easily shared during sessions
The experience is designed to be simple, accessible, and confidential.
Is Online Counselling Effective?
Online counselling has become a widely used and established form of therapy.
Research shows that therapy delivered via video can be as effective as in-person sessions for many mental health concerns, including anxiety and depression.
What matters most is the quality of the therapeutic relationship and the structure of the sessions, both of which are maintained in online work.

My Approach to Online Therapy
My approach is structured and evidence-based (see My Approach page).
