Getting Started
The decision to start therapy can be a vulnerable time and can feel overwhelming. I have broken things down to help you make sense of the process:
- Explore ZR Counselling’s website to learn more about what therapy would be like and to get a sense whether or not I would be a good fit to work with you.
- The terms counselling and psychotherapy are often used interchangeably. Counselling generally targets a specific issue, taking steps to address and solve it. Psychotherapy tends to look at patterns of problems that keep coming up, gaining insight, and focusing on emotions and thought processes.
- You do not need to know your diagnosis to get in touch. All you have to know when you are contacting me is what is concerning or confusing in your life right now. I would be happy to speak with you briefly on the phone to address any questions you might have before you decide to start therapy.
- All sessions are charged and payment is due at the end of each session.
- Once your initial questions have been answered, you can schedule a date and time to meet me for an intake session. It gives me an opportunity to understand your concerns as well as for you to get a better sense of what it would be like to work with me. An intake session lasts for about 50-60 minutes. You will be required to complete the intake form, and informed consent & confidentiality form before we begin.
- All enquiries will be kept confidential. I do not share your information with any third parties.
- When you are ready, contact me with your questions, concerns, enquiries on fee rates & discounts, or to schedule an appointment.
